The La Sal mountain fire started on 4 June. It is still raging! Gil and I have had a front row seat of this fire for the last 5 days. Drove by the origin of the fire twice, and have been close enough to smell the smoke and see the flames. Last night we could see the flames from our camp site. It was truly surreal! The fire has burnt a lot of the mountain side. The news reports Say about 6000 acres so far. It is truly an incredible thing to see and experience.
